The Year of INFINITY

2 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 8 or INFINITY

What does ^^^ mean? In angel numbers, 8 means a year of infinite abundance and prosperity for you and everyone. If you create space within to be an open vessel for the universe, you will receive many wonderful ideas. “You will have the courage to take a leap of faith to put these ideas into action. These projects will inspire you to work harder than ever . . . yet it will be joyful work for meaningful projects, which will create great blessings and abundance for everyone involved.” –Doreen Virtue

charlotte-new-years-eve-2015

Yup, that’s right! Buckle up yogis & yogini’s we have a blissful year full of opportunity ahead of us. But how do we create this space within to allow these blessings into our lives? We need to dump out our trash- duh! You know, old habit patterns and ways of thinking, oh and those damn expectations that we so easily grasp onto. When we practice yoga and meditation we are clearing and cleaning out this trash to create more SPACE to receive higher blessings. You can’t fill up an overflowing gas tank, right? Got it??? Good 😉

SO! Lightworkers, the big question now is- what is it that you’re going to manifest?? Because I promise you, whatever thoughts you project out into the universe is exactly what you’re going to get back. Scary? It could be. Exciting? Definitely! This is why we have a regular daily spiritual practice- so we’re ready for whatever challenges come our way. Not only that- but so we concur them and learn to view everything in a positive bright white light!

Now, how do we manifest a life of our wildest dreams?

3c7de048c73de4d52b08da6a42d2154dSTART HERE:

  • Think abundance
  • Envision yourself thriving
  • Write down your dreams, wishes & desires
  • Make a vision board
  • Be creative & get crafty
  • Set intentions
  • Make affirmations
  • Create a space for healing
  • Surround yourself visually every day in this space of healing.

If you want guidance on how to approach any of the above, reach out to me via Facebook or E-mail. Also… dare I give away one of my big announcements for 2015? Maybe just a hint-

Stay tuned for our #lightworkers community to soon make an online presence.

The universe is always watching so if you can remain consciously UPlifted into these higher ways of thinking the universe will have your back. So dream big everyone. Our planet needs lightworkers and to be saturated in higher vibration now more than ever before. Together we will: “reveal, heal, resolve and evolve.” -Katherine Austin (my teacher & owner of Karma Yoga)

Coaching Tip Tuesday: Devote a minimum of 15 minutes every day to personal development.

You have to show up for yourSELF before you can show up for anyone else.

Coaching Tip Tuesday2There are countless ways to engage in personal development, whether you decide to pray, practice yoga, meditate, read, journal or watch inspirational videos, etc. the most important thing is that you commit to some sort of PD each and every day:  consistently is key. Personally, I prefer starting my day with personal development before anything else (after brushing my teeth of course). This sets a productive tone of positivelty for the rest of the day. Although I recommend personal development to everyone it is especially vital if you’re a coach or apart of our #freetobefit team. For coaches, I highly recommend participating in the Coach Training Academy that’s on your beachbody coaching homepage. If you’re interested in more information regarding this shoot me a comment or e-mail! Everyone’s PD is different, and that’s okay, even if the type of personal development you engage in is different each day, that’s okay too- what matters if that you take time, every single day to take care of yourself, improve yourself and make strides towards growth!

For example: My own personal development consists of daily prayer, meditation and yoga- more recently I’ve expanded this to researching/acting on improving marketing and branding. Mondays are the National Coach Calls, so that is my personal development on that day. Either way, I hit my PD in the mornings with a cup of tea right after my workout + shower. Don’t be intimidated by my lengthy list of what I do for PD. It’s a huge part of my life but it hasn’t always been so lengthy- my PD started small and yours should too!

I’d LOVE your feedback on what you do for personal development. Do you consistently have something you work on, on a regular basis? If you don’t- what sort of personal development intrigues you- even if it’s something other than what I’ve listed? DO share and let me know what sort of PD peaks your interest.

DECEMBER 2014 BEACHBODY BOOTCAMP

As some of you know, every 1st of the month my team runs a beachbody bootcamp where we come together to keep one another accountable for our health & fitness goals. If you want more information on our monthly (you can join late) beachbody bootcamps click HERE. So, you might be wondering what program I decided to commit to this December. I choose…

why-what-portrait.jpeg

As a yogi of course I love this program. The fusion between pilates, yoga, cardio and dynamic movements keep your body guessing and mind off everything else going on in your life while doing PiYo. I decided to commit to this program this December because with all of the hustle & bustle during the holiday’s I know I’m low on time, have cold joints, and a fluttered mind thinking about shopping, family events, parties, the new year, etc. Not to mention all the temptation to overindulge in poor food options and alcohol. With PiYo, most of the workouts are about 40 minutes, you’re improving joint mobility, building muscle and muscle flexibility with these low impact workouts. The emphasis on the breath is one of my favorite parts of PiYo . So if you’re interested in following my journey through PiYo this december definitely check out my instagram and Facebook that’ll contain daily updates! If you’re interested in participating with my PiYo Bootcamp or wanting to participate with another one of beachbody’s programs/supplements this December be sure to drop a comment below, visit HERE to fill out a form to join or simply email me at lexiannwellness@gmail.com

We have all tried different diets, taken off weight, put it back on, started new workout programs, quit them, joined gyms, stopped going, etc. This challenge right before the new year is meant to get you grounded and on track.  My team gives you the support that you need to make a lifestyle change and reach your full potential, why wait until January 1st? If you are ready to commit to change reach out to me. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone’s awesome results this month and can’t wait for mine, good luck!

Below you’ll find the descriptions of each workout on the program:

How Often Should I Meditate?

3 minutes a day is better than 31 minutes once a week.

Did you know, that in as little as 3 minutes you affect your circulation, blood chemistry and electromagnetic field while performing a mantra meditation or kriya? For example, 3 minutes of breath of fire is equivalent of 20 minutes of long deep breathing. Lets be honest, we want the biggest bang for our buck and TIME. We’re all busy and sometimes the ego mind takes over, making excuses as to why we don’t have time to meditate. Again, this is the ego mind talking. Yes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes seems like a long time but 3 minutes? I think our ego can loosen up to that idea. It only takes 3 minutes to completely shift your consciousness and uplift yourself. When we take this time to take care of ourselves, everything else in our lives will take care of themselves! Plugging in our navel center first thing in the morning, again only for 3 minutes- will affect our inner strength, power, outlook and give our body the fresh oxygen it craves.

I’m so passionate about 3 minute meditations because I know how doable they are! First thing before leaving the house:

3 minutes Sat Kriya!

Maybe you try a combination of a few listed above. Dedicate yourself to 3 minutes a day for 40 days to change a habit. Today a friend and I are holding one another accountable for 40 days of Sat Kriya. My experience this morning is what inspired me to write this blog post. I felt so refreshed afterwards, I felt so good about myself and honestly couldn’t stop smiling. I’m excited for these next 39 days, every single one of them. If you’re curious about Sat Kriya here’s an excellent video to learn how and why we do it:

“The greatest reward of doing sadhana is that the person becomes incapable of being defeated. Sadhana is a self-victory, and it is a victory over time and space. Getting up is a victory over time, and doing it is a victory over space. That is what sadhana is. And when you do a sadhana  in the sangat, you enrich yourself in multiple ways.” -Yogi Bhajan

Date Your Best Friend or Don’t Date AT ALL

Simple enough, right? Not so much. Often we find ourselves in relationships (contracts) that either stop and start, go on longer then they ‘should’ or similar relations repeat with different people. Why is this? Because spiritual contacts do not end until our Soul learns and grows from them. So ask yourself next time you’re questioning your involvement with someone, “What is my Soul learning here?” If you’re not sure, what can you do to discover more clarity?

10665752_10152841031611874_138586385695985918_n

My best friend and I had this conversation the other day and it came up again in an Introduction to Kundalini Yoga Workshop days later. Coincidence? I think not. Often our lower three Chakras become out of balance or even depleted. As householders in society, often shifts take place whether it’s a relationship, job, perspective, whatever! These changes effect the energy in our body and certainly play a role in our behavior. To give further insight of this energy in terms of chakras (energy centers in the body) our root chakra is our foundation- home, boyfriend/husband, etc. Our sacral chakra is our creative energy and sexual emotion. Our Solar Plexus is our power and inner strength from our core. When these lower chakras are out of balance we reach outside ourselves for happiness- i.e., a man/woman particularly someone who’s not necessarily going to grow spiritually with us. SO what do we do?

SAT KRIYA: Not only does Sat Kriya heal and regenerate every organ and cell in your body but it moves the kundalini energy upward along your spine. This Kriya heals mental and psychological imbalances- deep work! Continue reading for directions on how to perform this kriya below.jaya-sat-kriya-sunset

Preparation:

1)     Sit on your heels in Rock Pose (Vajrasana).

(Alternate: Rock Pose is the preferred posture but if you are unable to sit in Rock Pose, you may sit in Easy Pose.)

2)     Stretch your arms above your head so that they are perfectly straight, no bend in the elbows, upper arms hugging your ears.

3)     Interlace your fingers and extend your index fingers, pointing upward.

(Advanced students: If you’re not a drinker or smoker and have never taken drugs, you may try extending all the fingers and placing the palms flat against each other.)

4)     Close the eyes and roll them up to the Brow Point.

5)     Inhale slightly to begin.

The Exercise:

1)     Powerfully chant Sat, squeezing the navel back towards the spine.

2)     Chant Nam as you relax and release the belly (breath will come naturally).

3)     Repeat: Squeezing the navel in on Sat; releasing on Nam.Squeeze, release. Squeeze, release. Keep going at a moderate pace.

To Finish:

1)     Inhale deeply and, with the breath held in, squeeze the Root Lock. Draw the energy up your spine to the top of your head and even to the tips of your fingers. Hold about 8 to 10 seconds. Exhale.

2)     Repeat: Inhale deeply, hold, squeeze, then exhale.

3)     Inhale deeply and then exhale completely out, apply the Root Lock and also the Neck Lock. Hold a few seconds and then release everything.

4)     Lie down on your back in Corpse Pose (arms at sides, palms facing up). Deeply relax for the same amount of time that you did the exercise.

Times:

One minute is good for beginners to get the hang of things. Three minutes is a good starting point for regular practice. Gradually work up to 7, 11, 22, or 31 minutes in one sitting. By the time you reach 31 minutes, you’re in self-mastery territory! And some lucky folks do Sat Kriya for 62 minutes!

My True Calling as a Light Leader

After quite the sleepless night I reach for my iPhone and squint for the time. 3:12. Ironically, it’s about the same time those are waking up and preparing for Sadhana (daily spiritual practice). My racing thoughts began to weave into some sense and little did I know my phone would be used for more then its clock but to soon record the thoughts of a spiritual awakening that was soon to transpire…

I felt a sort of mental buzzing sensation since the moment I laid down around 10PM this evening after becoming wrapped up in all of the shifts, transitions and contracts ending and beginning in my life recently. I began to reflect on the past six months when I lost my ‘Self’ and my regular spiritual practice at my hOMe (Karma Yoga) after ending a romantic relationship and moving away to finish college. These changes in my routine weighed on me in so many different aspects of my life. My ego spread like wildfire questioning my worth, increasing doubt and instilling fear. I was sleep deprived yet oversleeping, exhausted and hungry without any sound reason, my anxiety and stress increased immensely and my body became much weaker and tense. I copped (or tried to) by self-medicating through alcohol, anger and over-doing. Now 3:37, I wiped my tears, exhaled all frustration and opened my wounded heart questioning the ‘why’ and ‘what fors’ coming to the realization that my heart was allowed to hurt in order to heal- *I had never truly allowed this process until now. My breathing slowed and I realized more then this lasting pain and heartbreak my Soul was hungrier then ever!!! The ‘sole’ reason being, I AM and always will be a thirsty light leader- we all have the capability within to be the light regardless of external and surface stressors. At this moment, bliss filled my entire being with the acknowledgement: I am a light leader with a passionate desire of feeding my soul all of the juicy spiritual/emotional/physical benefits of yoga, meditation, mantra, chanting, pranayama, and of course connecting with the divine.

I’m human, we all fall off the yoga and health conscious path at one time or another. I think we can all agree it’s normally a rough patch but what a blessing it is to see the important role your sadhana plays in your happiness, health and holiness. I now see, so CLEARLY, this self-crisis is an opportunity for miracles and radical change. This shift in perspective is opening every aspect of my being towards my truth (my truth= my true calling). I now have pure clarity of my true calling- that I am here to clear, heal and share. I am here to spread this pure consciousness anyway that I can, forever!

I guess everything does happen for a reason, heartbreak and all! I came to this dark place in order to see the light. That’s divine alignment- the bigger purpose for our experiences: what our Souls can learn from them.

I AM stronger then ever. I AM strong as steel.

…A yawn or two finally take place as the buzzing begins to settle. I can’t help but giggle that it is now 4AM as I am typing my final thoughts on my iPhone mentally noting, “Good morning Katherine (My spiritual teacher). My Sadhana just ended, your turn! I’m off to dream big.”

May love & peace be with you always & may your true calling awaken you each and every day.

My Yogic Path

Sat Nam,
I first developed an interest for yoga in my early teenage years after struggling with an array of sports injuries and as well as chronic insomnia and thyroid issues. In time, these health concerns guided me to taking personal ownership of my health, something I believe all people are capable of with the proper guidance. That is where I come in, I am here for the sole purpose to guide you towards better health.

Teaching yoga has been such a natural process and my passion to share with others is undeniably strong. I fully understand the pressures, busyness, and stressfulness children, teenagers and adults all face on a day-to-day basis which is why I strive to guide all age groups to lead a healthier life with me by their side and discover all of exercise, nutrition, yoga, and meditation’s beautiful benefits.

I offer an array of inspirational yogic styles in private or group settings. I happily teach Beginner, Ashtanga, Karma, Mommy and Me, or a Vinyasa style practice. I am available for birthday parties, spa parties, athletes, athletic teams training, etc.
